A Mini-Romance Novel:
Raspberry Rose Baked Brie Loaf Begins with Love…
It was a crisp February evening and the couple was ready for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. They had been looking forward to this special day for weeks and had planned everything down to the last detail.
One partner had set the table with candlelight, red roses, and a beloved family heirloom fancy plating, cups, bowls, and cutlery. The other had arranged for a bottle of their favorite red wine stored and served at the temperature of perfection. As they sat down, they toasted to their love and to another year of happiness.
The first course was a light and fresh salad, followed by a succulent seafood risotto. But the real showstopper was the main dish – the Raspberry Rose Baked Brie Loaf. Normally, this was not something one would have as the main dish. But, these two knew when good was good and nibbling on this was the star of the meal.
The couple was passionate about food, and they had heard of this dish before but never tasted it. As soon as they saw it plated, they knew it was going to be something special. The bread was warm and fragrant, the brie was melted to perfection, and the raspberry and rose jam was the perfect sweet and tangy complement.
As they began to tear off pieces of the bread and dip them into the melted brie and jam, they couldn’t help but smile. This dish was the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and cheesy, and it brought back memories of their first date, when they shared a fondue.
They took turns talking about their favorite moments of the past year and making plans for their future. They talked about traveling to new places, trying more creations with Bucket of Bread, and spending time with loved ones. All the while, they savored every bite of the delicious Raspberry Rose Baked Brie Loaf.
As the night went on, they laughed and talked, enjoying each other’s company and the food they had prepared with love. They agreed this Valentine’s Day dinner was one they would never forget and Bucket of Bread had played a big part in making it so special.
They were happy.
Raspberry Rose Baked Brie Loaf: A Love-Dipped Delight
Bucket of BreadIngredients
- 1 Package Brie It doesn't have to be triple cream goat brie. It can be regular should you so wish.
- 1 Small Jar Preserves, Jams, Jellies, Confections, etc. It doesn't have to be raspberry and rose either! But, this was a nice find as it seemed to fit very well for Valentine's Day. If you search on the Internet, you'll find a lot of brands with this particular flavor though. Also, the particular type used was technically a fruit preserve.
- 1 Whole Egg This is for the egg wash.
- 1 Bucket of your Favorite Bucket of Bread brand dough mix The Traditional White is used in this recipe.
Instructions
- For this one, simply form a large boule. The picture here shows one at about 950g. While this rests, let the oven preheat to 450F.
- Score it.
- Egg wash it too.
- This dough baked for a bit longer than the 20 minute basic bucket style found in the instructions. It took about 45 mins. Please note the oven used at the test kitchen fluctuates in temperatures and is not professional grade. Every oven is different and checking the temperature to make sure it is done is essential beyond the desired color. If you need some help making sure the middle is fully baked, look into a digital thermometer. Also, here is a trick you may want to follow: tap the bottom of it with a knuckle like you would at a door. What you want to hear is a hollow sound. BUT, the best method for determining this is probably sticking a temperature probe into the middle of the bread and getting a temperature of 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit. The Traditional White is the 190 followed by Hearty Wheat and the hotter of temperatures for the Seven Grains. That was highlighted in the FAQ section of the website. The good news is it will be baked again, so if this is messed up a little bit, there's a plan to rescue your loaf! Once it is baked, let it cool and saw the top off.
- Once you have it out of the oven and cooled with the top sawn off, cut down individual wedges as shown. Cut to about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom so that the pieces are easily able to be torn away.
- Place the Brie in the center of your wedges and cut around the circular shape.
- Dig out the cut area and insert the Brie.
- Cut the "lid" from the loaf into sticks and with the pieces from the middle, place them onto a parchment lined cooking sheet.
- Place heaping amounts of your preserves, jams, jellies, confections, etc. and add this to the cooking sheet.
- Bake again hot at 450F for about another 20 minutes or until the cheese is hot and gooey.
- The bread strips will become toasted and crunchy!
- Dip into this with your loved one and share some intimate stories. Speaking of which...
