Notes

To enhance the recipe, here are a few suggestions:

  1. Add Nuts: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the cinnamon and brown sugar filling before rolling the dough. The nuts will add a delightful crunch and complement the warmth of the cinnamon and pumpkin.
  2. Pumpkin Spice: Incorporate a teaspoon of pumpkin spice into the dough or filling. This blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves will elevate the autumn flavors even more.
  3. Cream Cheese in Frosting: For a richer frosting, mix in a bit of cream cheese with the butter, powdered sugar, and maple. This will create a tangy contrast to the sweet buns.
  4. Candied Ginger: Add finely chopped candied ginger to the filling for a hint of spice and a chewy texture. It pairs wonderfully with the cinnamon and pumpkin.
  5. Caramel Drizzle: In addition to or instead of the maple frosting, drizzle a bit of caramel sauce over the buns for an extra layer of indulgence.
These additions can make your Maple-Kissed Pumpkin Cinnamon Swirl Buns even more flavorful and festive!
