Gather your ingredients.
Core out your favorite orchard fresh apple. Pictured here is the 'Wealthy' variety from the Hoch Orchard and Gardens in La Crescent, Minnesota.
Quarter the apple and thinly slice it.
Put the slices in a bowl and mix in the lemon juice.
Add the brown sugar and spices.
Mix everything up evenly and set aside.
Grab the dough and form into a ball.
Start pushing out the dough to flatten it. Flip the dough often to prevent it from sticking to your surface.
Roll out the dough to get the dough to no more than 1/8 inch thin (2-3 mm). Flip it often as well.
Grab a standard dinner plate and cut around the edges forming a circle.
Set the trimmings to the side.
Transfer the circle to the parchment paper on the cooking sheet.
Roll out the trimmings and cut slices.
Get the mixed apples and form them onto the center of the dough in a symmetrical style keeping everything even.
Fold the edges over towards the center, leaving about an inch border, and adding the remainder of the trimmed strips. Create a decorative border. Be creative or leave the middle open as with a traditional galette.
Optional but recommended: Egg wash the dough.
Bake at 450 F for approximately 20-30 mins until the desired golden brown color is achieved. Remember the dough is thin!
Pull out of the oven.
Rest on a rack so the middle isn't scalding. This should be about 5 mins recommended before serving.
Serve warm and enjoy!
